Lutheran Home for Children is an emergency shelter in Jersey City, serving up to 8 children in crisis in a safe, nurturing and caring environment.  Begun in 1904 as an adoption and welfare society for children, Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey continues to minister to the needs of children who have been hurt, abused or abandoned.

Piscataway Community Residence

Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is the sponsor of the Piscataway Community Residence, serving nine (9) developmentally disabled women.  Begun in 1985, the residence is LSM/NJ’s oldest group home.  Residents work to develop their daily living skills through goals identified in their Individual Habilitation Plan (IHP). Residents are encouraged to participate in daily chores and activities to further improve their skills.

Sayreville Community Residence

Lutheran Social Ministries of New Jersey is the sponsor of the Sayreville Community Residence, serving six (6) profoundly developmentally disabled women.  Residents require help in all aspects of daily living, including dressing and personal hygiene.
